The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has address a media report that alleged that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered his resignation.

According the report which the governor has dismissed as “fake news”, the governor is to tender his resignation sighting health reasons and handing power over to his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat.

Speaking through Gboyega Akosile his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, the governor stressed that no individual or authority had requested the governor’s resignation.

“We have noted with concern a false report by Sahara Reporters alleging that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been ‘ordered to resign on health grounds’ with the Deputy Governor set to take over. This report is false in its entirety,” Akosile said.

He further added: “Governor Sanwo-Olu remains in good health, of sound mind, and is actively discharging his duties as Governor of Lagos State.”
