Activist Omoyele Sowore has called out embattled lawmaker Senator Ned Nwoko, accusing him of statutory rape and abuse of power.

According to Sowore, Nwoko must be held accountable for the crimes alleged by his estranged wife, Regina Daniels, who recently revealed that she was only 17 years old when she was married off to the senator.

In a post shared on November 9, Sowore stated that at 17, Regina was legally a minor under UK law, where Nwoko remains a registered legal practitioner. He noted that any sexual activity following that marriage would, under British law, amount to statutory rape.

Sowore also referenced Regina’s further allegations that Nwoko introduced her to hard drugs while she was underage and repeatedly forced himself upon her. He described these claims as serious criminal offences that require thorough investigation and prosecution.

“It is unacceptable for Ned Nwoko to continue parading himself as a lawyer in the United Kingdom while facing these damning allegations,” Sowore said.

He called on the Law Society of England and Wales, as well as the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), to begin disciplinary proceedings before the Independent Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT) to determine Nwoko’s fitness to practise law in the UK.

Sowore further vowed that Nwoko would not be allowed to use political influence or wealth to suppress victims or obstruct justice.

“Impunity has an expiry date, and that date is now,” he concluded.
