Sophia Momodu, entrepreneur and the mother of singer Davido’s first child, has cautioned fans against referring to her as the musician’s wife.

In a video message, Sophia said that despite ending her relationship with Davido many years ago and his current marriage, some people still address her as his wife, a label she says she finds inappropriate.

She stressed the need for people to respect boundaries and personal choices, noting that she has moved on from the past and expects others to do the same.

Recalling a recent encounter, she said a content creator greeted her as “mama Imade, OBO’s wife,” an introduction that left her shocked.

“I was shocked because I am not his wife,” she said.

Sophia urged fans to stop making such references, emphasizing respect for marriage and individual decisions.

“Stop referring to me as Davido’s wife. Let’s respect people’s marriages and rules. If people have moved on, allow them to move on in peace. Everyone is happy and doing what they are supposed to do,” she added.
