Tems Surpasses Tyla As African Artiste With Highest Monthly Listeners On Spotify

Nigerian singer has surpassed her South African counterpart as the African artiste with the highest monthly listeners on .

The “Love Me Jeje” crooner recently reached 38.3 million monthly listeners on the streaming platform, edging past Tyla, who currently has 38.2 million listeners.

Tems’ surge has been attributed to her recent releases and collaborations, including “What You Need” (Colour version), “Bounce Road Blues” with and , as well as her collaborative hit “Raindance” with , which continues to gain traction.

She is also on track to challenge and potentially surpass the all-time record for highest monthly listeners by an African artiste — a milestone previously set by Tyla at 40 million listeners.

Tems remains the most-streamed female African artiste on Spotify, with 4.7 billion streams across all credits.
