Trump Criticises Grammys and Threatens Legal Action Against Trevor Noah

U.S. President Donald Trump has strongly criticised the Grammy Awards, calling the ceremony “virtually unwatchable” and accusing host Trevor Noah of making a false and defamatory statement about him during the live broadcast.

In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump described the Grammys as one of the “worst” award shows and said CBS was “lucky” to no longer be airing what he called “garbage.”

He also attacked Trevor Noah’s performance as host, comparing him unfavourably to late-night talk show presenter Jimmy Kimmel, suggesting Noah did not do a good job leading the event.

The reaction followed a joke Noah made during the ceremony in which he mentioned Trump and former President Bill Clinton while referring to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Responding to that remark, Trump denied ever visiting Epstein’s private island or having any connection to it. He wrote, “I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close,” adding that he had never previously been accused of that by the media.

Trump insisted the comment was false and damaging to his reputation. He said Noah’s statement was defamatory and should not have been made on such a public platform.

The president warned that he is considering legal action against the comedian. He described Noah as a “pathetic” and “talentless” master of ceremonies and suggested his lawyers could move forward with a lawsuit for damages.

Trump also referred to his past legal disputes with media personalities, saying those cases had “worked out well” for him.
