South African global star Tyla has officially announced that her second studio album, A*POP, will be released on July 24, 2026, marking the beginning of a new cinematic and globally focused phase in her career.
The singer revealed the project after months of teasing, sharing a cinematic trailer that highlights a confident, African-rooted and international direction for the album.
Tyla described this new phase as a more intentional and mature stage of her journey, noting that while her debut felt rushed, she now has a clearer vision of her sound and message.
In her words, the 19-track album reflects her current state of growth and creativity, showing a shift from the pressure of early success to a more natural and self-defined style.
The album builds on the success of her debut project, TYLA, which featured the global hit Water — a track that earned her the first-ever Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance.
She continued her winning streak in 2026 with Push 2 Start, becoming the youngest African artist to win two Grammys and the first to win the category twice.
Although the full tracklist for A*POP has not been released, some songs are already known, including Chanel and She Did It Again, a collaboration with Zara Larsson. There are also reports of a possible collaboration with Wizkid titled “Dynamite.”
To mark the album’s release, Tyla is scheduled to perform at the TODAY Show Citi Concert Series in New York City, giving the project a major global launch.
