Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo narrated how he quit consuming alcohol.

In a video circulating on social media, Osinbajo recounted what influenced his decision.

“I like my red wine once in a while, and then I like my beer,” he said.

However, the turning point came during his posting at the United Nations Mission in Mogadishu, Somalia.

“On this particular Sunday, I was coming back from the fellowship where I had preached, and I was hoping to buy two cans of Heineken, go to my room, and read my Bible.

“There were many restaurants in the UN compound in Mogadishu. So, I went to this particular restaurant, and as I walked in, I saw many of my colleagues from different countries. They were drinking,” he said.

Immediately he walked in, he recounted, his colleagues started to hide their drinks. He inquired from a Danish colleague, who replied, “You are the priest, and we cannot be drinking around the priest.”

He narrated that this encounter completely changed his drinking habit.
