Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has made history as the first African artist to surpass 11 billion total streams on Spotify across all credits.
The milestone was announced on Tuesday by the music chart platform ChartsAfrica, which highlighted the achievement in a post shared on X.
Describing Wizkid as a global superstar, ChartsAfrica wrote:
“First African artist to reach each milestone in Spotify history.
“Wizkid becomes the first African artiste ever to cross 11 billion Spotify streams across all credits,” ChartsAfrica wrote.
The report also comes just days after Wizkid released his collaboration with DJ Tunez titled State of Mind on May 15, 2026.
The song recorded strong performance on streaming platforms, gaining over 685,000 global streams on Spotify within its first day of release.
