Nigerian Afrobeats star Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has thrown a subtle jab at fellow singer Davido after his album Morayo emerged as Apple Music’s most-streamed album of 2025 in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Morayo clinched the top spot, with Davido’s 5ive taking second place.
Before releasing his album, Davido had confidently declared that his project would overshadow others dropped around the same period—comments widely interpreted as a shade toward Wizkid, who released Morayo shortly before.
Davido’s boast, “Album go swallow album,” became a trending line at the time.
But following Apple Music’s year-end ranking, Wizkid appeared to respond with a tweet referencing Davido’s earlier statement. He wrote:
“Dem say album go swallow album dem dey ground dey smell now!”
The post has been widely interpreted as a direct mockery of Davido, with fans debating whether their long-running rivalry might flare up again.
As of now, Davido has not issued any response.
