Popular American rapper Yung Miami has accused South African singer Tyla of stealing her song.
The rapper made the claim after Tyla shared a teaser of her upcoming single titled “Chanel” on social media on Thursday.
According to Yung Miami, she had earlier played her unreleased song, also titled “Chanel,” for Tyla, only to later discover that the singer released a similar track.
Expressing her frustration, Yung Miami said she felt hurt seeing Tyla use an idea she shared privately. “This girl really ran off with my song and I don’t know how to feel about it. Mind you, I played this song for this girl,” she wrote.
When a fan asked who she was referring to, Yung Miami confirmed it was Tyla.
The allegation has sparked online debate about song originality and the growing tension between African and African-American artists.
As of now, Tyla has not responded to the accusation.
