The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced the release of results for candidates who sat the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination on Thursday, April 16. A total of 632,788 results are now available for candidates to access.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by the Board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin. He advised candidates to check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number used during registration.
The Board explained that candidates can only view their scores for now, as the option to print results has not yet been activated.
JAMB also warned candidates against tampering with result messages obtained through its official channels. It stressed that any attempt to falsify scores is a criminal offence.
“Candidates are strongly cautioned against manipulating the SMS received from the official platform (55019/66019) to fabricate or alter scores with the intent to mislead others, including parents. Such actions constitute a serious criminal offence,” the statement said.
The examination body added that it has already begun taking action against those involved in malpractice. It revealed that some suspects have been apprehended.
“Currently, two candidates and one parent are in custody for engaging in result falsification using AI and other electronic means. Any candidate found culpable will face the full consequences of the law,” it stated.
JAMB further noted that the conduct of the examination is still ongoing. It assured that more results will be released in batches as the marking process continues.
