Former Vice President and presidential aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the administration of President Bola Tinubu, describing it as disappointing across key sectors.
Atiku made the remarks on Wednesday during an interview on Arise TV, where he also spoke about his plans if elected president.
When asked about how he intends to unseat an incumbent leader, Atiku declined to reveal his approach. He said: “Why would I sit down and then start discussing my political strategy at this forum?”
He also rejected suggestions that a coalition candidate would find it difficult to defeat Tinubu in an election.
Speaking on what he would do differently if given the opportunity to lead the country, Atiku was critical of the current administration. He said: “Everything is wrong with President Tinubu. I mean, honestly, perhaps in my life this is the worst administration I have seen.”
He further noted that his concerns extend beyond a single area of governance. According to him: “I feel terribly disappointed. Economically, otherwise, I feel disappointed.”
On his immediate priorities in office, the former vice president stressed the importance of restoring security and order across the country.
According to him: “I believe security, law and order are basic. Whatever you want to achieve, if you don’t have security, you don’t have law and order, I don’t think you can implement whatever policy, whether it is job creation, whether it is infrastructure development, whether it is health care, whatever, you must have a secure and stable country.”
