Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has stirred global debate after boldly claiming he is the most famous person in the world, even more than former U.S. President Donald Trump.
In a teaser from his upcoming interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan, Ronaldo said, “Do a debate — who is more famous, me or Trump? Worldwide, nobody is more famous than me.”
The clip, which has since gone viral, sparked massive reactions from fans and pundits online.
Ronaldo, who currently plays for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, also spoke about his determination to lead Portugal to a historic World Cup victory. “If Portugal wins, which is possible, it will shock the world,” he said.
At 40, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner remains one of football’s biggest global icons. He recently extended his contract with Al-Nassr until 2027, as he continues his pursuit of 1,000 career goals.
Meanwhile, football legend Teddy Sheringham has said Ronaldo is unlikely to go into management after retirement, suggesting he might instead follow David Beckham’s path into football club ownership.
