Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala extended her fine scoring streak on Thursday, netting her sixth goal of the season to inspire Al Hilal to a 2–0 win over Eastern Flames in the Saudi Women’s Premier League, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The Nigerian star, who has been outstanding since arriving at Al Hilal, opened the scoring in the 43rd minute, pouncing on a rebound to give the visitors a well-deserved lead.

Al Hilal strengthened their grip on the match early in the second half when Al Bandari Mobarak struck in the 62nd minute, securing a comfortable victory.

Despite the win, Al Hilal remain second on the log with 15 points from seven games — three points behind leaders Al Nassr, who maintain a perfect record and still have a game in hand.

Eastern Flames’ struggles continued, as the defeat leaves them winless after seven league matches.

The 30-year-old joined Al Hilal from National Women’s Soccer League side Bay FC in September. During her stay in the US, she has managed 38 appearances for Bay FC, scoring eight goals.

Before then, she spent six seasons at Barcelona, where she went on to make 162 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 117 goals, including a record-setting season feat in 2022, when she was the joint top scorer in the league with 19 goals.

The two-time Ballon D’or nominee ans six-time CAF Women’s Player of The Year topped the scorers chart three times in Spain, helping the club win the UEFA Women’s Champions League twice in 2021 and 2023, four league titles, three Spanish Super Cups and the Copa de la Reina three times.

She is the first African woman to win the UEFA Champions League in 2021 and also score in the Champions League final in 2019.

Oshoala was also part of the Super Falcons’ squad that won a record-extending 10th WAFCON title in Morocco in July.
