Liverpool have decided not to sack their manager, Arne Slot, despite a 2-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League.

Reports indicate that the club’s management want Slot to remain in charge at least until the start of next season.

Slot, who replaced Jürgen Klopp in 2024, enjoyed a successful first season, leading Liverpool to the Premier League title.

However, his second season has been challenging, with Liverpool currently sitting fifth in the league, just one point ahead of Chelsea in sixth place.

With the league title now almost out of reach and the team facing a tough task of overturning a two-goal deficit against PSG, Liverpool are also close to exiting the Champions League.

Despite this, senior club officials are considering sticking with Slot, even as speculation grows over a possible move for former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso.
